Our research is split into macro and micro reports. Our macro reports cover an industry structure, capacity issues, regulatory structure, and competitive climate and highlight particular sub sectors of interest to investors, which is a top down approach. However, our micro reports are bottom up analysis of a particular sub sector including strategic and financial evaluation together with valuation opinions and an overall investment proposition.

Collectively we have two decades of hands on economic experience and understand the dynamics of the early 1990’s of high interest rates and inflation together with the optimism on the dot com boom and ultimate bust. The emerging period into the early 2000’s led to an interesting area of investment as value investors began to gain the upper hand, however, with lower inflation and a resulting relaxation in monetary policy led to deals being debt funded and the re-emergence of momentum investors, which ultimately has led to another boom and bust.

To this end we understand the structure of funding and investors mindsets. We also fully appreciate that investment is as much about timing as it is analysis. Therefore our macro reports concentrate on capacity, regulatory and structural issues, which are always important in investment decisions. Whilst our micro reports concentrate on the business proposition and place a much greater emphasis on the strength of management and the implementation of a specific strategy.
